Senate panel OKs veterans infertility bill

It what could be seen as a next step in the inclusion of infertility treatments into Obamacare, A senate panel has recommended that this bill be passed. Senator Patty Murray (D Washington) is the lead legislator

Here is the comment that will set the tone.” We are not in the position to choose winners and losers based on the severity of injury”

The bill will expand coverage for Veterans to the full spectrum of advanced fertility services, including donor egg and Surrogacy.

Why should Veterans be  part of a special subclass…..why not just cover everyone? (Can’t you just hear it now?)

So in addition to the Natural law argument, and  the religious and ethical arguments that these procedures commodify the entire reproductive system, we now promise to make a baby for those who volunteer to put themselves into harms way and say to the American Population….that we have to pay for it as well.

I realize, and have always known, that these are very emotional subjects. But, objectively, where does the merry-go round stop?

About St. Anne Center for Reproductive Health

I am a board certified Reproductive Endocrinologist who practiced in the IVF world for 15 years. After seeing the damage that these treatments were causing couples and the complete commodification of life, fueled by a deeper understanding of my Roman Catholic faith, I left the field in 2010. I am currently praying for an end to the culture of death, and hoping to one day have the funding to open the St Anne Center for Reproductive Heath, to provide options for people with challenges to conceive with support and care to follow God's will.
