The HHS Mandate has spurred a well deserved response supporting Religious freedom. But what seems to be lost in all the noise is what Catholics should be free to believe. Some have mistaken it as an excuse to believe “whatever we want” that the Church “does not speak for them” yet they still call themselves authentically Catholic.
But what it really is about is the opportunity for Catholics to learn the beauty of the Church’s teaching on sexual morality, specifically contraception. However, in most of the postings, speeches, homilies and letters, the religious freedom cry is the sole one heard

Bishop Cordileone has written a marvelous article where he states that this is the opportunity to show the benefits of NFP. While Natural Family Planning can be taken too far, just as anything that can dismiss the Will of God, it is a refreshing focus on what is really important
