Duofertility is available in the US

At tomorrow’s presentation, I will be reviewing Catholic Approved means for Infertility testing and treatment. One method I have mentioned before is Duofertility. This is a monitor that is placed under the armpit and monitors basal body temperature constantly

It has been available in England for several years, and and there is one study which compares this method to European IVF rates. It is not the best study, and still probably needs to be compared to other methods, but the best thing is that it has a one year cash back policy. That’s right!  No pregnancy in a year and they give your money back.

They have a suitability-tool  which will likely lead to an offer to have someone contact you. They state that it will be good for about 80% of couples.

It is another example of methods that predict the fertile period a little more easily than the Billings Method or NaProTechnology. But variety is the spice of life, and deserves to be studied together.

About St. Anne Center for Reproductive Health

I am a board certified Reproductive Endocrinologist who practiced in the IVF world for 15 years. After seeing the damage that these treatments were causing couples and the complete commodification of life, fueled by a deeper understanding of my Roman Catholic faith, I left the field in 2010. I am currently praying for an end to the culture of death, and hoping to one day have the funding to open the St Anne Center for Reproductive Heath, to provide options for people with challenges to conceive with support and care to follow God's will.

Any thoughts on what the benefits of this method might be as compared to direct hormonal monitoring (such as the Clearblue Easy Fertility Monitor, which was suggested by my OB and I just broke down and bought last week)? Other than not having to pee on a stick 10 times a month, I mean. Would it pinpoint ovulation more accurately? The paper was short on details.

Listening to what the couples have to say on the videos, on the website they do more than a monitor- they seem to call people and advice them as well . Maybe this makes the difference?
